Mendel Lectures Nominations
Dear colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit your nominations for Mendel Lectures starting from season 2026/2027.
Please, send the name and contact details of the scientist you would like to nominate, together with a brief justification, to pavlikova@med.muni.cz by November 15, 2025. The final selection will be made by the Mendel Lecture Scientific Advisory Board.
Please remember that the invited speakers should be among the leading scientists in their respective fields and will be selected solely on the basis of their outstanding scientific achievements.
If your nomination is selected and the speaker accepts the invitation to visit Brno, we kindly ask for your assistance during their visit, which includes.
- Preparing a scientific programme for the speaker
- Cooperating in the organization of a sponsored lunch with students
- Introducing the guest before their lecture
- Moderating the discussion after the talk
- Organizing a dinner with the guest and other PIs
Typical Mendel Lectures Programme
Wednesday:
- arrival at Vienna/Prague airport
- transfer from airport to hotel
- hotel check-in
Thursday:
- 08:30 taxi from hotel to University Campus
- 08:45 welcome
- 09:00 – 11:15 meetings with PIs
- 11:30 – 12:30 lunch with students
- 12:45 – 15:00 meetings with PIs
- 15:00 depart for Abbey
- 15:15 – 16:30 tour of the Mendel museum and Augustinian Abbey
- 16:45 photographer
- 17:00 – 18:00 lecture in the Refectory of the Augustinian Abbey + discussion
- 19:00 informal dinner
